Where are the delights in our lives begging for us to celebrate them? What small pleasures will carry us through a summer of change? A life closely observed has a lot to teach us about the bonds that connect each to all. Bring your favorite summer reading book along with you to this service focused on Ross Gay’s The Book of Delights. Rev. Megan Visser (Dowdell) is delighted to return to us on Zoom — you ordained her on May 19, 2019 and she grew up in this congregation.

Rev. Megan Visser (Dowdell) grew up and was ordained HERE at First Parish Church in Beverly in May 2019. She currently serves the UU Congregation of Santa Clarita Valley in Southern California, where she lives with her wife Stefanie and a cat named Emerson. For ten years, she was a professor at Starr King School for the Ministry (a UU seminary). Now, her community ministry continues as she works on doctoral research focused on religious/spiritual coping and shares embodied somatic practices with individual UUs and congregations. She looks forward to sharing worship on Sunday morning with a congregation so very close to her heart.
