This Sunday we do some of the difficult work of learning about messages of justice and our responsibility from our collective place of relative privilege. Liberation theologies exist to hold and be a message of hope for specific commiunities that have experienced marginalization or oppression. Unitarian Universalism has, for the most part, been a faith dominated by experiences of privilege. We’ll explore the message of liberation, with a focus on Black Liberation Theology, and continue our congregational work of holding our community and one another accountable for how we can help the arc of the universe bend toward justice.
