During the service on Sunday, June 16, Aviva Herr-Welber, a community organizer from ECCO, will be speaking about the network of faith communities in our area that are coming together to provide sanctuary to individuals or families who are seeking asylum and are at immediate risk of deportation. The UU Church of Greater Lynn (located in Swampscott) has voted to become a tier one host church to give the physical sanctuary. They are looking for volunteers to help give support in other ways. After church on the 16th, there will be an informational meeting with Aviva for anyone with additional questions or that might be interested in volunteering. Please contact Sue Elliott if you would like further information.
