During a particularly difficult time, Rev. Elizabeth’s friend, Elissa, kept a blog. In it, Elissa wrote about her present experience and kept herself focused on what she planned to do in the future. Her plans were the “why” that propelled her through that time. We are going through our own difficult times in the United States. It is easy to feel discouraged. In this service, we look to our congregational past, the stories we still tell today, and the invitation in them to claim our own “why” as we continue to build the personal and communal tools that will help us move together through our difficult time, carrying with us the truth that love doesn’t leave anyone out.
