The Dalai Lama suggests that, when we make a mistake, we should ask, “Can I love this too?” Can we love a range of things about ourselves – the shapes and forms we come in, our less charming traits as well as the best?
Another meditation teacher refers to it as “not being jerks to ourselves.” And what if we think of self-care, which sounds to some either selfish or trendy, as stewardship? During this month on the theme of love, let’s reflect on self-love, or if rings more true to you, self-acceptance, and how it helps us better to love others.
